This is the Galaxy S22 Ultra: New camera cluster design, with an S Pen slot to replace the Note series

Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy S22 lineup early next year. Recently, the famous leaker OnLeaks has unexpectedly shared a series of renders of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, thereby giving us a clearer view of the design of this phone right before the launch date.

From the outside, the Galaxy S22 Ultra looks quite similar to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra introduced last year, from the rounded edges to the boxy frame, but has a slightly different camera cluster on the back with a total of 4 sensors. Even so, this is still not the most interesting detail.

The series of renders show that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a dedicated slot for the S Pen on the bottom edge. In other words, Samsung is looking to merge the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note product lines. Previously, the company brought the S Pen to the S21 Ultra earlier this year, but it does not have a dedicated pen slot like the Note series, but retails a case for users to hold the S Pen.

In terms of specifications, OnLeaks says that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a 6.8-inch AMOLED curved screen with a high refresh rate and a significantly improved rear camera cluster. Most likely, this phone will have a new generation 108MP camera like the previous rumor.

Galaxy S22 Ultra has a thickness of 8.9mm with overall dimensions of 163.2 x 77.9 x 8.9mm. In addition to the S Pen slot, the bottom edge of the device is also home to a USB-C port, an external speaker and a recording microphone. Meanwhile, the top edge has a secondary microphone and a SIM tray.
