As expected, Black Shark has launched the Black Shark 4S series in China. The new gaming phone series has a few minor upgrades compared to its predecessor, which comes in two models, the Black Shark 4S and the Black Shark 4S Pro.
The BlacK Shark 4S series has a design that looks almost identical to the ASUS ROG Phone series. The 4S standard version is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, while the Pro version comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+, an upgrade over the Snapdragon 888 on the Black Shark 4 Pro model.
Both devices have the same 6.67-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution (1,080 x 2,400 pixels), support for 144Hz refresh rate and 720Hz touch sampling rate. In particular, the screen also has two areas to support force touch, and supports MEMC, DC Dimming, eye protection mode and can reach a maximum brightness of up to 1,300 nits.
Both phones also have LPDDR5 RAM, but the standard model only supports 5,500 Mbps, slower than the 6,400 Mbps on the Pro version. Both Black Shark 4S and 4S Pro come with UFS 3.1 memory.
The new Black Shark 4S duo has a triple camera setup on the back, placed horizontally, including an 8 MP 120-degree ultra-wide camera and a 5 MP macro camera. The main sensor of the standard model has a resolution of 48 MP, the Pro model is upgraded to 64 MP. On the front, both have a 20MP selfie camera located inside the screen hole punch.
Black Shark says the new phone series supports dual SIM, 5G, dual-band WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS (GPS, A-GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS), NFC, a USB Type-C port and one 3.5mm headphone jack.
Some other outstanding features of the lack Shark 4S series: Side-mounted fingerprint sensor, RGB lighting, dual stereo speakers, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass , gyroscope and barometer.
The Black Shark 4S series runs MIUI-based JOYUI 12.8 operating system, both devices have a 4,5000 mAh battery and support 120W fast charging. The two devices are also compatible with charging protocols such as Qualcomm Quick Charge (QC) and USB Power Delivery (PD).
