Apple is about to have its own 5G and WiFi modern chip produced by itself, gradually 'escape' from 3rd parties, expected to be released in 2023

 

Apple is one of the few companies that designs its own chips for its products. The tech giant is currently headquartered in Cupertino, which makes the A-series chip sets for devices like the iPhone and iPad. Recently, some rumors revealed that Apple is planning to design a new modern chip capable of 5G and WiFi connectivity.

Last year, the company introduced Apple Silicon's M1 chip, based on the ARM architecture, for its MacBook devices. This year, Apple will introduce two more similar processors, the M1 Pro and M1 Max. This chip set has greatly increased the processing performance of Apple products.

According to the latest Bloomberg report, Apple is currently planning to open a new office in Southern California and has also hired dozens of engineers with experience in modern chips and other wireless semiconductors. In addition, Apple also spent 1 billion USD (about 22.97 trillion VND) in 2019 by acquiring Intel's modern chip business for smartphones.

According to some information, this chip set of Apple is expected to be manufactured at Taiwan Semiconductor Corporation (TSMC), a corporation specializing in semiconductor fabrication. It is predicted that this modern chip from Apple will be able to launch in 2023 at the earliest.
