Xiaomi is expected to launch a successor to the current Redmi K40 series soon, and rumors about the new generation have been constantly popping up. A reputable leaker has revealed the launch time of the Redmi K50 series.
Accordingly, the Redmi K50 series is expected to be offered at the end of February 2022 with a total of four different models, respectively equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Snapdragon 870, MediaTek Dimensity 7000 and Dimensity 9000.
The leak also suggests that Redmi K50 series phones will come pre-installed with MIUI 13 interface. Fans are not too surprised by this information because Xiaomi is expected to launch MIUI 13 next month, but it is still unclear. The new interface is customized based on the new Android 11 or Android 12.
Many rumors also indicate that the Redmi K50 Gaming model will be equipped with the new Dimensity 9000 processor, accompanied by an OLED screen that supports 120 Hz or 144 Hz refresh rates. Because it is an OLED screen, the fingerprint sensor will be placed under the screen, and the device is also rumored to own a 64 MP main camera.
The Redmi phone that owns the Dimensity 7000 is probably the Redmi K50 Gaming Standard Edition, which will also have a 64 MP main camera. Currently, information about two Redmi K50 models running Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Snapdragon 870 is still quite small.
