Not long ago, Google - the maker of Pixel phones mocked LG and declared itself the "successor" of LG. In fact, the company's core market is in the US, and while the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are attractive, they're still not enough to entice iPhone users into Android fans.

Google's entire product line currently includes four phones:
● Pixel 4A, from 349 USD - 7.93 million VND
● Pixel 5A, from 449 USD – 10.21 million VND
● Pixel 6, from 599 USD - 13.62 million
● Pixel 6 Pro, from 899 USD - 20.45 million VND
In the first place, Google couldn't compete with Apple or Samsung, at least in the ultra-premium price segment. iPhone 13 Pro in Vietnam has a starting price of 33.9 million and Samsung's Galaxy S21 Ultra is currently priced at 25.9 million. In addition, the price of the Galaxy S22 series and the iPhone 14 series will not decrease.
The price of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro can be explained in two ways:
● Google is really trying to compete with Samsung and Apple, and that's why it has to lower the price of products
● Google isn't trying to compete directly with Samsung and Apple because the company knows this isn't possible - at least not anytime soon
Obviously, both reasons are valid. The pricing of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro was a very sober decision, which gave Google time to prove itself and eventually hit the "super premium" level. With that, this process gives Google a chance to attract customers and clear the way for the likes of LG, OnePlus, Motorola, even Xiaomi and Honor in Europe.
Google can't replace Apple yet but OnePlus, Motorola and Xiaomi watch out
Here are the top smartphone manufacturers in the US, according to quarterly market data (Q2/2021):
Apple (53%)
● Samsung (26%)
● Lenovo/Motorola (12%)
● LG (3%)
● Other (6%)
If you look at the Pixel 6, Google's valuation is affecting brands like Motorola, OnePlus, Sony, and any other company that sells products in the mid- and high-end segments.
Google Pixel phones have the upper hand in price, camera, and some features like wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. Speaking of extras, the Pixel phone's IP 67/68 water resistance is also hard to find at this price point.
Compared to mid-range Android phones, Pixel 6 has no competition
In fact, Google's Pixel 6 has no "rival" at an affordable price point. So Google will push brands like OnePlus and Samsung to drop their prices or come up with new devices that can compete with the Pixel 6's great price.
The Pixel 6's competitors will be Samsung's delayed Galaxy S21 FE, the OnePlus 10, and of course the Xiaomi 12. However, they'll cost much more.
When it comes to the Pixel 6 Pro, they're being compared to Samsung's upcoming iPhone 13 Pro and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Pixel 6 Pro has a 120Hz refresh rate display, the most powerful camera system on a Pixel ever. In other words, the Pixel 6 Pro is clearly going to be the biggest threat to phones like the OnePlus 10 Pro and Xiaomi 12.
Will Pixel 6 be the first step for Google to take over the smartphone world?
Currently, Google cannot compete directly with the likes of Samsung and Apple. These brands have built a huge number of users and brand recognition. People know and love Samsung's "S" series, and iPhone users are among the most loyal customers in the market.

So Google's wise pricing strategy will put the company on the map...again. Google only has to deal with OnePlus, Motorola and Xiaomi in each market.
Best of all, Google's Pixel 6 series will benefit customers! Competition always drives brands to do better and the Pixel 6 is arguably the most important phone series in the industry, helping to speed this process up!
